YME Construction Updates

 

Yellow Medicine East School District is moving forward with transformative improvements to our school facilities following strong voter approval of the $74.395 million bond referendum in August 2025. With 70% community support, this investment reflects a shared commitment to providing safe, modern, and inspiring learning environments for our students.

This website will serve as a central hub for construction updates, progress reports, timelines, and key milestones throughout the project. We are grateful for the trust placed in our district and look forward to keeping our community informed every step of the way.

As summer approaches, the halls may be quiet, but campus is about to get a whole lot busier. 🚧🔨

There’s a lot of exciting progress happening behind the scenes as we begin this transformational chapter for YME.

🚧 SUMMER BUILDING ACCESS & ENTRANCE INFORMATION 🚧

As construction begins on the YME Facilities Project, access to our buildings will be limited throughout the summer. Please review the information below to help ensure a smooth arrival for all summer programs, activities, and visitors.

🍎 Summer Food Service Program
Access to the kitchen/cafeteria is through Door #6 (Main MS/HS Entrance on 9th Avenue). Please follow posted signage once you are inside the building.

🎒 Bert's Club
Access to Bert Raney Elementary will be through Door D (Front Entrance). Families may walk on the grass between the fence and the front entrance of BRE.

💪 Strength & Conditioning & 1 Journey Fit
Please park in the east parking lot and enter through Door #5 (East Wing Entrance).

🚌 Summer Recreation Activities
All activities, including bus trip departures/arrivals and game transportation pick-up/drop-off, should use Door #6 (Main MS/HS Entrance on 9th Avenue).

🏀 Summer Indoor Sports Practices
Please park in the east parking lot or along 9th Avenue and enter through Door #6 (Main MS/HS Entrance on 9th Avenue).

⚠️ The construction area is closed to the public. Please use only the designated entrances shown on the map and follow all posted signage.
